Are you ready to travel? Do it when you want to! Take a solo trip for the most luxurious kind of trip. Few things are as freeing and exciting as going on a trip by yourself.

I think a city is great for solo travel if it’s easy to get around on your own (for example, if there are good public transportation options or if it’s easy to walk everywhere), if it’s safe, if the locals are friendly (you never know when you’ll need help), and if there are lots of things to do.

See what you want to see, make the most of every moment, and give yourself the chance to do things you would never have done if you were travelling with friends or family.

Feeling inspired? Get up and go! I know it can be scary to travel alone, but it is so worth it.

Here are the best places in the world to visit alone.
Defoes LifeStyle
Rome
There aren’t many places on this globe that can compete with the Eternal City’s extensive history. Travel back in time to the time of the ancient Roman Empire, and then investigate the diverse contemporary culture of Italy’s vibrant capital city.

Vancouver
One of the most underestimated tourist destinations on the west coast, Vancouver is a trendy and modern melting pot that is bordered by some of the most breathtaking landscapes and fantastic breweries you will find anywhere in the world.

Melbourne
There are a lot of amazing places in Australia that are good for travelling by oneself. The list of cities includes Melbourne as just one of them.

I solemnly swear that it is well worth the effort! After you have had enough of the cold winter in the Northern Hemisphere, make your way to the sweltering beaches of Melbourne and spend some time exploring the museums, galleries, and theatres that make up this culturally diverse city.

Florence
Florence is an ideal location for ladies to visit on their own as a vacation resort.

You will feel as though you are in a fairy tale the entire time you are in Florence and will never want to leave. Every culture vulture should make it a point to visit this city, since it has the kind of art, fashion, and food that will haunt their dreams for years.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a great destination for solo vacations.

I have lost count of the number of serious solo travellers who have told me that Amsterdam is their favourite city in the world because of its stunning canals, illustrious museums, and notorious nightlife. Amsterdam is located in the Netherlands. Once you’ve been there, it’s easy to understand why it has such a unique place in the hearts of so many adventurers.

Vienna
The fact that Freud, Mozart, and Beethoven all were born in the same city gives it a number of reasons to be proud of its heritage. The capital of Austria is a wonderful site to go sightseeing because of the extensive history, spectacular palaces, and lively history that it contains.

Reykjavik
This vibrant and diverse city is unlike any other place you have ever been, and it will feel to you like a deep breath of fresh air. Visit the city, go hiking in the surrounding countryside, and if you happen to be there during the winter, try to get a glimpse of the aurora borealis.

Queenstown
This beautiful city in New Zealand is home to some of the world’s best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, and it is set against the backdrop of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps. New Zealanders are some of the friendliest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting, which is a bonus for individuals who travel alone.

Ghent
This small city in Belgium is one of my favourites at any time of year, but the Ghent Festival, which takes place once a year and lasts for ten days, is by far the best time to go there because it brings together artists from all over the world to create an atmosphere that is unlike anything you have ever experienced.

London
You could spend a lifetime touring London and still never get tired of it since it is the perfect combination of modern and classic elements. London is the largest metropolis in Western Europe. Visit the capital city of the United Kingdom on your own and get ready to give in to all of your desires.

Venice
The best place to kick back, relax, and watch the world go by is Venice, thanks to its breathtaking plazas, world-famous canals, and bustling neighbourhoods.

Dublin
Spend the day delving into the illustrious literary past of Ireland’s capital city, Dublin, and then spend the evening taking in some traditional Irish music, drinking Guinness, and getting a better understanding of what it means to be Irish.

San Francisco
Treat yourself to some delectable treasures, have a picnic with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, explore the city’s hippy past and colourful present, and do all of these things at the same time. Did you know that San Francisco boasts the highest concentration of farmer’s markets and restaurants per person of any city in North America?

Madrid
Even though the coast of Spain is magnificent, there is something about Madrid that keeps drawing me back for more and more each time I visit. This golden, sun-drenched city is home to some of the most stunning buildings in the entire world in addition to a constant nightlife scene.

Lisbon
Lisbon is a city that bursts with colour and sunshine, and because it has a history that spans thousands of years, it is one of the most interesting towns in Europe. If you want to travel by yourself and get lost in the city, Lisbon is the place to go.
