Airbnb is helping North American cities make it simpler to live and work anywhere.
Based on the average earnings of Hosts in the first quarter of 2022, Airbnb has also found the best places in both countries for Hosts to make money by having long-term guests.

Best Equipped
Since Hosts in the US and Canada already make money from long-term stay guests, Airbnb has put together a list of cities and towns with at least 1,000 active listings as of Q1 2022 that have the most long-term stay-ready listings.

Still, guests don’t have to stay in places where there are a lot of long-term ready listings. In May, Airbnb added a new feature called “Split Stays.” This gives people more options for longer stays by letting them stay in two different homes. When you search for a specific destination, Split Stays automatically show up in the search results. This means that guests looking for longer stays will usually see about 40 percent more listings.
Most Hospitable
Airbnb looked at the cities in the US and Canada with the most five-star reviews from long-term stays to find some of the “friendliest” cities for digital nomads.

The least expensive
Airbnb looked at the average price per night for long-term stays in places where 1,000 or more long-term stay nights were booked in Q1 2022. This helped them figure out some of the most affordable places in the US and Canada for nomadic living.

Most Popular
Last but not least, Airbnb has prepared a list of the locations that have some of the most long-term stay visits scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

People are going back to cities again, and some of them even choose to stay and “live” there. In the first quarter of 2022, compared to the first quarter of 2021, the number of nights booked in high-density urban areas grew by 80%.
Airbnb is working with 20 places around the world to make it easier to live and work anywhere. Some of these places are in the US, like Palm Springs, California, Tampa Bay, Florida, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Over the next few months, Airbnb will work closely with each of these places to build hubs that are unique to them. These hubs will feature the best long-term stays in the area as well as important information about entry requirements and tax policies.
Airbnb will also work with the destinations on educational campaigns to promote responsible hosting and travelling as a remote worker.
Airbnb’s co-founder and CEO, Brian Chesky, told employees they could work from anywhere when he announced the company’s new remote-working policy.
In the first week after the announcement, more than a million people went to Airbnb’s career page. This shows how much people want to live and work anywhere.
