Rio de Janeiro offers the world’s most gorgeous sunsets, according to a survey by Booking.com.
This is not “localism,” it’s what tourists from other countries and other parts of the country think. People already gather at Arpoador, Pedra do Leme, Mirante do Leblon, Mureta da Urca, and other spots in the city to watch the king of the stars in the beautiful city’s sky. Veja Rio is where I got the information.
Since an online travel booking platform did the survey, the results have important economic implications for Rio de Janeiro’s tourism industry. According to the survey, 7 out of 10 Brazilian travellers said that the sunset reminds them of vacation, and 75 percent of the Brazilians interviewed said that a sunrise or sunset with the sea in the background is the scene that reminds them most of vacation. In October 2021, adults who planned to travel in the next year were asked to fill out the survey online. Information from 1,000 Brazilians who took part in the survey was added up.
In another survey, Booking.com found that a beautiful natural landscape is the main reason 91 percent of people choose a place to visit. To find this trend, the platform asked 48,413 people 18 and older from 31 markets to fill out a survey. To take part in the survey, people had to have travelled for work or pleasure at least once in the past year. They should also be planning a trip for 2022 and be in charge of or help make the decision about the trip. The survey was also done on the internet in January of 2022.
Booking.com asked travellers from all over the world where they had seen the most beautiful sunsets. Besides Rio de Janeiro, other Brazilian cities also made the list. Jericoacoara, in the state of Ceará, came in fourth, Buzios, in the state of Rio, came in sixth, and Salvador, in the state of Bahia, came in eighth.
See below for Booking.com’s list of the ten cities with the most beautiful sunsets, based on the opinions of travellers around the world:
1) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Cariocas have been going to Arpoador beach in Ipanema to watch the sun go down for years. The neighbourhood and the rest of the South Zone waterfront offer a variety of places to stay for people from all walks of life.
2) Key West (Florida), United States;
3) Zadar, Croatia;
4) Jericoacoara, Ceará, Brazil – One of the best places to see in Jericoacoara is the Sunset Dune. Hundreds of people go to the top of the dune every day at 5 p.m. to watch the sunset and listen to the waves of the beautiful sea nearby.
5) Fira, Greece
6) Búzios, Rio de Janeiro – There must have been a reason why Brigitte Bardot fell in love with Buzios. At sunrise and sunset, the famous French actress liked to take long walks on the town’s beaches. Over the years, Buzios has also become very popular for its nightlife, which has options for everyone. Orla Bardot, the viewpoint at Buzios, Porto da Barra, and Geribá Beach are some of the most well-known locations in the city from which to see the sunset.
7) Cartagena, Colombia
8) Salvador, Bahia – Salvador is one of Brazil’s Northeast’s most beautiful cities. All of the city’s coastline is beautiful and faces west, which is where the sun sets. People who live in or visit Salvador know that Farol da Barra, Elevador Lacerda, Baa de Todos os Santos, and Rio Vermelho are some of the best places to watch the sunset.
9) Rovinj, Croatia
10) Oia, Greece
