The list was mostly made up of islands and fancy ski towns, but eco-tourism safaris in Botswana and London, which is Europe’s financial hub, also made it.

Where hotels charge an average of $1,000 a night

The Caribbean island of St. Barts is the most expensive place to go on vacation in the world; this is mainly because the average cost of a place to stay is $1,770 per night.

The study shows that the average cost of a hotel room in Gstaad, Switzerland (No. 2) is $1,360. At $177 per day, the town in the Swiss Alps also has the highest average cost of food on the list.

Aspen, Colorado, is the third most expensive place to stay. The average price for one person is $1,385, but a family of four can expect to pay $2,274.

FloridaPanhandle.com looked into the usual rates for stays at four- and five-star hotels during Christmas (Dec. 21–27) and spring (May 19–25) but did not include taxes.

From $0 to $333 per day for attractions

To figure out how much things cost, FloridaPanhandle.com took the average price of the three most-reviewed attractions in each area on TripAdvisor.

The average cost of a day’s worth of activities in Park City, Utah, a ski town, was $333, which was the most on the list.

Maun, Botswana, was the only place on the list that was in Africa. Activities like a one-day trip to the Okavango Delta cost, on average more than $100 per day.

Even though St. Barts and the Maldives had higher overall average prices, their attractions were worth $0. Tourists might have to pay a lot for hotels in these places, but the beaches are accessible.

Monte Carlo had one of the lowest average prices for attractions on the list, which was interesting since it is a popular place to gamble.

The company says that the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, Casino Square, and the Casino of Monte Carlo, which costs 18 euros ($20) to get into, are the three most popular places to visit in Monte Carlo.

Losses from gambling, on the other hand, are not included in Monte Carlo’s average cost of entertainment.
