Among National Geographic’s “most inspiring” vacation destinations for 2023 is Utah.
Utah, also known as the “Beehive State,” is one of only five states or regions in the United States to make the list.
National Geographic’s “Best of the World” list for 2023, which has 25 of the “most inspiring” places to visit, includes Utah.
With its five national parks and eight national monuments, Utah is called “an adventurer’s dream destination” by National Geographic.
Utah is the only place in the United States in the adventure category. It is in the same group as the countries of New Zealand and Austria, as well as Revillagigedo National Park in Mexico and the Inca site of Choquequirao in Peru.
“Both people who live in Utah and people who visit know that Utah is a place where many different kinds of life-changing things can happen,” said Utah Office of Tourism managing director Vicki Varela. National Geographic’s “Best of the World” list is a great way to show how beautiful our places are.
Utah is also one of only five places in the U.S. to make the list. The other four are Milwaukee, Wis., in the Community category; Charleston, S.C., in the Culture category; and San Francisco, Calif., in the Family category.
Nat Geo’s editor-in-chief, Nathan Lump, said, “‘Best of the World’ is Nat Geo’s annual love letter to the most amazing places in the world, both near and far.”
